The society was established in 1998 by a group of local enthusiast to Research, Study and Spread information regarding ceramics in general with a concentration on Scottish Pottery.  Since the start the Society has gone from strength to strength and now boasts over thirty members.  Research and collecting new examples of the wares is ongoing and members regularly uncover new information which is shared.

An archive of appropriate publications and associated materials has been collected for the use of members and non-members.  Not surprisingly a few members have concentrated on the various Kirkcaldy Potteries while other members are researching the Modern Scottish Studio Potters.
